The AGM is hosting the first Public Consultation in Great Yarmouth regarding the possible 25% budget cuts to
Norfolk County Council’s Adult Social Services.
The public consultation on the cuts, which could equate to around a £74million reduction in funding over 3 years, is being led by Paul Jackson, Consultation and Community Relations Manager, Norfolk County Council, who will be presenting on the current proposals and gathering views and opinions on what local people consider are the main issues and challenges for older people living in Great Yarmouth.
The meeting is open to anyone who would like to attend on the day, and people are invited to arrive at the Priory Centre at 09:45 for a 10:15 start, with the Consultation due to finish at 11:45.
The Great Yarmouth Older People’s Network seeks to reach out to and improve the lives of older people living in Great Yarmouth, by supporting opportunities for local people and services to work more collaboratively, and better together in partnership and to initiate discussion and campaigns on local concerns and issues that affect the lives of older people, such as the effectiveness of health and social care services and access to public transport.
