In May, the Big Lottery Fund announced a new £30 million funding stream called Improving Financial Confidence. 69 local authority areas have been invited to bid, on the basis of an analysis of where the most ‘financially vulnerable’ people live. The funding is also targeted specifically at social housing tenants.
Up to £500,000 is available for each area and both Norwich and Great Yarmouth have been identified as target areas. Bids must be partnerships, with a single lead agency.
NCAN is helping to facilitate bringing agencies together to develop a partnership for the Norwich area. Together with Norwich City Council a series of meetings will be held for those interested in either being lead agency or a service delivery partner so we can hopefully establish a project outline to propose to the Big Lottery Fund by the first deadline in September.
