Safer Introduction to Child Protection Training
10th June - 28th June 2017
The Safer 'Introduction to Child Protection' Training has new dates: Saturday 10th June 9.30am – 1.00pm in Great Yarmouth, Saturday 17th June 9.30am – 1.00pm in Kings Lynn, Saturday 24th June – 9.30am - 1.00pm in Norwich and Wednesday 28th June 6.00-9.30pm in Norwich.

CPAG seminar on the 'two child limit'

CPAG are holding a seminar in London on the new two child limit on tax credits and means-tested benefits. The seminar will cover the policy implications, details of how the two child limit is being implemented, the exceptions to the limit, the transitional arrangements and the implications of the two-child limit in the context of human rights.
Care Sector Jobs Fair

Norwich Job Centre are holding a Care Sector Jobs fair at Kiln House Pottergate on 28th June 10am to 12:30. There are over 20 employers attending. The Jobs fair is open to all who are interested in working in the Care Sector, people do not have to be in receipt of benefits. To make the most out of the event please bring copies of your current CV along.
Norfolk & Waveney Social Prescribing Conference

NCAN are hosting a Social Prescribing Conference on Monday, 3 July 2017 from 9am - 2pm at the Council Chamber, Norwich City Council, St Peters St, Norwich and you are warmly invited to come along. This conference aims to bring together public and voluntary sector organisations in Norfolk that are interested in social prescribing. This will be an opportunity to explore approaches to social prescribing and learn from the existing and recent social prescribing projects in Norfolk. Dame Professor Hazel Genn and Sarah Beardon from University College London will be joining the conference to discuss their Stratford project and research activity. Training for trainers in safeguarding adults awareness
5th July & 27th July 2017
There are new dates for 'Training for trainers in safeguarding adults awareness' - Wednesday 5th July 2017 at Cotman Housing Association, Norwich and Thursday 27th July 2017 at The Green Britain Centre, Swaffham. The day-long session aims to train staff to deliver safeguarding awareness training to other staff and volunteers in their organisation.
Save the Date: Third Annual Voluntary Sector Conference

Community Action Norfolk and Momentum (Norfolk) are hosting their third annual Conference on Weds 5th July in Norwich. The theme this year will be “Social Justice: are you ready for the challenge?” Details about speakers and the workshops will be announced soon.

Leeway’s annual conference is being held on Friday 14th July at Norwich City Football Club. The theme this year is ‘The impact of domestic abuse on children and young people’ and as well as a fabulous line up of guest speakers, there’s also a theatre production from Certain Curtain Theatre with their powerful short play ‘Lady in Red’.
NCLS Fundraising Scavenger Hunt
Date of Event/Training: 20.07.2017
Follow the trail around Norwich, answer questions and collect items to earn points. Prizes awarded to the top 3 teams. Optional pit stops at pubs along the route! Teams of up to 5 people, £10 per person which includes a buffet at the Mash Tun at the end of the hunt. Thursday 20th July, 5.30pm for a 6pm start at the Mash Tun, 16 Charing Cross, Norwich.
Domestic Abuse Champions Training Upcoming Dates
27th June - 13th July
Norfolk County Community Partnership (NCCSP) have arranged three more Domestic Abuse Champions courses. The two day course is free of charge. The dates are: 27th June & 3rd July at South Norfolk District Council, 28th June & 5th July at Broadland Disctrict Council and 4th July & 13th July at Breckland District Council.
Explore New Ways to Wellbeing with Mind
31st July - 11th August 2017
The ‘Explore – New Ways to Wellbeing’ programme will use arts, nature and sports activities to give young people the opportunity to try something new, make friends and challenge themselves in a safe and supported environment. At the end of the programme each young person will have built their own ‘Wellbeing Toolkit’ designed using the five senses to take away. The Explore programme for ages 16-18 will take place over two weeks Monday to Friday between the 31st July and 11th August 2017. There is also a programme for ages 18 - 25 in September.
Free Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub Briefing Sessions
September - November 2017
The Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) are offering FREE workshops which will provide visitors with a comprehensive understanding of how they work and how the partner agencies link together, as well as giving an insight in to each agency's responsibilities within the MASH.
Safeguarding Adult seminar coming to Norwich
Date of Event/Training: 15.09.2017
Following implementation of the Care Act, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) is funding a series of safeguarding adult seminars called - Safeguarding Adults and Legal Literacy (SALLY). Seminar 6 in the series will be hosted by Bridget Penhale from the University of East Anglia and is called - ‘Responsibility for and to Safeguarding in Civil Society’. The full day seminar is free to attend and will be on Friday 15th September 2017 at the Julian Study Centre, University of East Anglia (UEA).
